I went for a quick walk around where I live... It might give you guys a better idea as to how living in Randomassburg, Japan (Okazaki, Aichi) looks like. I’ll probably do quick photoshoots like that more regulary from now on...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I’ll go look at it a bit closer later on... It’s not stored on grass so it’s probably not rusted out and considering the condition of the car, it might be ridiculously cheap and very much worth saving...

Kinja'd!!!

Su-su-suspension failure!!! Or why S-class of this era are so damn cheap...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

My fellow american friends, this is something you won’t get to own for a LONG time :)

Hope you liked it. Next time I do this, it will probably be Sakura time here! (within a week or so...)

You’re right. The roads are really narrow (jeez, all the r’s I used).

Yeah, if you don’t stick to main roads, it gets fairly tight very quickly...

The 3-wheeler is very far gone :)

Is the Clio/Lutecia RS really gold? Or is it just the editing that makes the yellow look gold?

Daihatsu CM from the 50's I guess...

Well, it could have been an AWESOME car... It is fully tuned, and just really good in general... Renault killed it by not offering a proper manual to come with it though...

The good stuff is with the Twingo and Megane RS, but not with the Clio...

Yeah the lack of a manual is really a pitty, I hear they are also planning make the next Megane RS also DCT only.

However my question was about the colour of that particular one, is it gold or is that just your photo editing? Because the gold looks quite good on it.

The Japanese are very keen on overhead cables aren’t they?

Nah, it’s the regular RS yellow... Testing a bunch of stuff and playing around with photoshop, which is the main reason why I went for a walk in the first place :)

Bummer. The elevation changes would have made for something epic .

Well, that’s kind of how Japan has always been... Everything is fairly tight, but you also get tons of roads with virtually no traffic at all when you get a bit deeper in the mountains so it largely compensates :)

Interesting mix of old and new. I like this kind of street photography, straight and simple. I’m not a fan of the filters/effects you applied, though. A bit too heavy-handed for the subject matter.

Completely, I know... I’m mostly trying stuff and playing with Photoshop. Basically overdoing many things to see how things work... It will get softer and more precise the more I do that, don’t worry. I set everything manually, so I need to proceed that way to really understand what I’m doing :)

The hillclimb scene must be interesting to see.

Hillclimb... Hilldrift more than anything else really :)

When brought down to the scale of the country it’s also incredibly tiny, so chances of meeting them at night are VERY small, unless you go to famous Initial D spots...

To be honest, I regulary go, “drive” at night in the mountains (twice a month maybe), and I have never met anyone who would do anything similar around here...

Interesting. Then again, Philippines’ hillclimb scene is pretty small, too, so it’s even.

Anyway, if you were to come up with parts of your town (or neiboring towns) that you think: “you know, if they were a bit wider they’d be excellent corners on a race track”, where would they be?

Hum.... This place that I call “cemetery run” is really pretty cool and the closest from my place... I would love playing with it on a fully closed road during the day :)

It’s part of this run that I have never done of course...

The more of this I see, the more jealous I get.

I’m starting to have a dire need for one of those Alto Lapins (4th shot, foreground) and one of those Beats.

Extremely jelly.

Kinja'd!!!0

You can get all Lapins you want lol... They suck ass. Like they REALLY suck!!

Beats are fun though... slow as fuck but really fun. Comparable in term of fun to my Mini.

Kinja'd!!! carcrasher88 > Flavien Vidal
03/26/2016 at 10:58

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah, that seems to be the general conscensus on the Beat, which isn’t really a bad thing. Better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slowl right?

As for the Lapin, I just really like the looks. Personally, I’d rather have a Hustler or a Daihatsu Mira Cocoa.

Kinja'd!!! Flavien Vidal > carcrasher88
03/26/2016 at 11:05

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah, I wouldn’t touch either one with a stick really :)

The Beat is lots of fun but I’d recommend the Cappuccino or the AZ-1 which are quite a bit faster...
